SOULAR POWER

To graduate from the graphic design program at West Chester University, seniors must produce a semester-long, self-authored thesis/capstone project based off of a word. This year’s (class of 2022) word was ‘origin’.

My project is ‘Soular Power’ a physical and digital tarot deck to help guide our souls when we feel lost or when we are in need of a higher power from the universe. I chose to do this for our word ‘origin’ because everyone’s soul is on a different, unique path, but yet we all carry the same power and energy from the universe in our souls-which is the ‘origin’ and essence of our being.

I wanted to create not only a physical deck for those who like traditional reading but also a digital deck for first-time soul searchers and tarot readers, so they will be able to learn tarot easily with quiz challenges and insightful meanings of each card, while also being able to do readings on the go.

For this project, I illustrated and made by hand 52 tarot cards and designed and prototyped a mobile app to guide beginners and experts alike into the world of tarot reading!
